Frequently Asked Questions
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a session. This allows us to offer the time to someone else who may be waiting for support in Burlington or across Ontario virtually. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice, or missed appointments, are charged the full session fee.
If you need to make a change, please contact your practitioner directly. We understand emergencies happen, and we encourage you to reach out if something unexpected comes up. As a courtesy, we offer the option to rebook within the same Monday–Friday week at no additional cost. While we can’t guarantee availability, we’ll do our best to accommodate. If rebooking isn’t possible, the cancellation fee will apply.
What is your availability?
Our team offers appointments Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Michelle provides virtual nutritional counselling throughout the week. Shauna offers virtual psychotherapy and limited in-person sessions in Burlington on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Walk-and-talk therapy sessions are also available by request. We do our best to accommodate scheduling needs. Reach out if you have specific timing preferences.
What are your fees and session format?
All therapy and nutrition counselling sessions are 50 minutes. Registered Psychotherapy sessions are $180, and sessions with a Registered Dietitian are $170.
All formats (virtual, in-person, and walk-and-talk therapy) are priced the same. If you’re unsure which option is the best fit, we’re happy to help you choose.
Are your services covered by my insurance provider?
Many extended health or private insurance plans include coverage for psychotherapy and/or nutrition services. Coverage varies by plan, so we recommend confirming details with your provider. We can provide receipts with the appropriate information so you can submit claims for reimbursement.
Which conditions do you support?
We support adults, women, and teens navigating a range of concerns, including:
- Eating disorders and disordered eating (AN, BN, BED, ARFID, OSFED, and other presentations)
- Body image concerns and Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD)
- Anxiety, chronic worry, and stress
- Life transitions and adjustment challenges
You don’t need a formal diagnosis to work with us. Our approach is collaborative and tailored, integrating evidence-based therapy, mindfulness, and somatic techniques to support your goals.
How do psychotherapy and nutrition services work together?
It’s not required to work with both, but many clients (especially those with eating concerns) find progress feels faster and more sustainable when psychotherapy and nutritional counselling are integrated.
Psychotherapy supports emotional processing, patterns, and coping skills. These are the thoughts, feelings, and behaviours around food and self. Nutrition counselling supports a more balanced relationship with food, practical eating support, and meeting your body’s nutritional needs.
There can be natural overlap, and that’s normal. We collaborate in a coordinated way so your care feels aligned, consistent, and grounded in shared goals.
If you’re unsure where to start, we’ve got you.
